Icy Blast wins thrilling finish

Icy Blast's head was first to hit the line in a nail-biting finish to Race 8 over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday afternoon.
This was one of those races in which the result was in the balance to the very last stride, and jockey Muzi Yeni said: "He's a 1200m-1400m horse and he was travelling well just behind them, but I was worried whether I'd get my run."
Icy Blast found enough room on the rail and he rallied up to the free-striding leader, Gorgeous Guy. "When I switched Icy Blast, he got unbalanced, I was concerned that his head might be up at the wrong time, but he did enough to win."
Bred by Lammerskraal, Icy Blast is a son of Erupt who races in the Rickesh Sewgoolam silks, for Rikesh, Mukund Gujadur and the Wernars family.
