Jayson struts his stuff

Owner Jayson Murugasa and family have been a little unlucky twice in a row with three-year-old filly Strutting, who was beaten in close finishes. But she finally got it right with a good Maiden win over 1400m on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday.
The race was run in pouring rain, which didn't detract from the excitement, during and after the race and Jayson was able to strut his stuff in a wide-brimmed hat. "I have the wrong shoes on today, I left my golf shoes on!" But those were clearly a lucky hat and lucky shoes on the day. "Thanks to the two Mike's (Mike de Kock and assistant Michael Ndzilana) and Mathew de Kock," he said.

Craig Zackey didn't have much of a choice. He had to bounce Strutting out fast from her wide draw and come around runners. He said: "I expected her to win easier, but there were one or two other jockeys trying to hold us deep. But Strutting has natural speed. She is still green and immature but she's a nice filly and she moves well."
Strutting is by Hawwaam out of Isabelle, by Western Winter. She was bred by Narrow Creek Stud.
