Lucky Fish ambassadors Mike and Mathew de Kock have two early runners at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday afternoon. Forward runs are expected from both.
Putthelightsout could show the benefit of his debut experience in Race 2 over 1400m. He was all at sea first-up at Hollywoodbets Greyville and stayed on late in the race, from a wide draw. Mat said: “He was very green but still finished in the front half of a large field that day. There have been two winners from three runners out of that race, including the Grade 2 TAB SA Nursery winner. Putthelightsout has improvement to come and can get into the places today.”
Greek Heritage was also green when she made her first appearance in a 1200m contest at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last month, and she’s come on from that outing. “She’s a nice filly and the extra 200m will suit her. There are a few form rivals, but we give ours a winning chance from her good draw,” said Mat.
Whispering Death returns to racing in Race 7 over 1160m on the standside track at Turffontein on Thursday. He appeared out of sorts before a layoff and Mat commented: “We’ve tried to fix a few things at home and we’re hoping that will make a difference on the racetrack. We can’t fault his work, he is doing well. If he brings that to the race day, he could have a say.”
Sosoru steps up to a handicap following his Maiden win, in Race 8 over 1160m. “The form from his win looks okay. The concern is that he wants to do a lot straight out of the gates, which worked for him over 1000m, but the 1160m could be tricky. But we’re giving him a try to see if he runs through and gets the extra. If he does, he could be involved in the finish.”
Angel’s Oasis is a new runner for the stable in Race 9 over 1000m and her form is well exposed. Mat said: “She’s not showing us much, looks a limited filly. She’s had a few places in this class, so we’re hoping for the best.”
