4Racing announces R9-million stakes increase

In a media statement published on Monday 13 April 2026, 4Racing has announced a significant increase of R9 million to its national stakes programme, reinforcing its commitment to the sustainability and growth of horse racing.

The enhancement sees R6 million allocated to the Highveld racing circuit, with a further R3 million allocated to the Eastern Cape programme.

As a result, the total stakes pot across 4Racing’s jurisdictions has increased from approximately R178 million to R187 million.

The distribution of this increase is currently underway, with a clear strategic focus on strengthening the foundation of the racing programme.

Additional funding will be directed towards Maiden Juvenile and Juvenile races, Maiden Plates, as well as non-feature races.
