Weekend runners, 6-8 November 2026

De Kock Racing comments for the weekend of 6-8 November 2026, powered by Lucky Fish:

Hollywoodbets Greyville, Friday 6 November:

Race 5, 1600m:  “At the weights, Whispering Death must have a chance. He’s up against the likes of the super horse Gladatorian, but with the apprentice’s claim he could surprise.”

Race 7, 1200m: “We’ve had issues with Ovation Star (headline photo) and we’ve had to bring her back slowly. But she is very fresh and well, not 100% fit but sound and we’re happy with her. Being a filly with some talent and racing fresh in a sprint, she should give a good account of herself.”

TAB Turffontein, Sunday 8 November:

Race 1, 1160m: “Epiphany is a daughter of Fire Away and Ilha Bela, we know the family well. She is not a bad filly. She needs further, however, and will definitely be green. We’d like to see her running on. Another debutant Secraterix is by Vercingetorix out of a dual Graded-winning sprinter. She seems to have a bit more pace, should be competitive and will improve with the run.”

Race 2, 1160m: “Danonomite is a gelding by Danon Platina out of a mare that won six races up to a mile. He’s quite hot and energetic, with a good amount of speed. If he behaves well, he could be in the mix and is a Quartet prospect.”

Race 6, 1600m: “Destiny Of Fire has had a nice, long preparation for this feature. She ran well in her comeback, the Spring Challenge and she has an inside draw which is helpful. We give her a good eachway chance.”

Race 7, 1800m: “Drumnadrochit was a fantastic winner of her last start. This is her prep run for the Summer Cup and she drew the worst gate, but she is in very good form at home. She’ll be given a chance in this race. If they go quick enough, she can kick on past them. If they don’t, we hope to see her stay on and finish the race off well. A good money chance, either way.”

Race 8, 1600m: “Wild Intent is having his first run for the stable. He’s a tricky customer and we’ll know more about him from this race. He certainly gives us the impression that the mile is on the sharp side for him. We’re looking for a forward run for him, he will come on with it. Captain West is in good form and is expected to be competitive again, has a chance. Yippee Kiyay is a fitter horse now with his last run under the belt. If he brings his best, he’ll be right there. Include him.”

Race 9, 1400m: “Cool Gambler is a tricky horse from a tricky draw. He’ll need a lot of luck but he is looking for this trip and if he gets the luck, he will be competitive.”

Race 10, 1160m: “Glastonbury Fire is doing very well after a rest. We’re not sure what his ideal trip will be, probably around 1400m to 1600m. But he is in terrific form at home and could be a dark horse in the race. If he doesn’t win this, he is certainly one to follow and will win in his next few starts. Industrialstrength has us scratching our heads a bit. We though he may be looking for further, but that didn’t work out and he’s back to a sprint. We’ve freshened him up and his work over short distance at home is excellent. Hard to give confidence, but we’ll be watching with interest.”
