Greek Heritage promises more

Greek Heritage showed the expected improvement from her debut when landing a 1400m contest at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday afternoon.
There was plenty to like about the manner of her victory:
-She travelled strongly on the bridle in Callan Murray’s hands and looked the winner a full 400m from home.
-When asked, she produced a decisive turn of foot.
-She then dug in to repel a solid challenge from Lady Nancy, who had finished within a length of the leading two-year-old colt Red Spice in the Grade 3 Cape Nursery and should win her share. The collateral form reads well.
Callan Murray was suitably impressed and said: “The race was run at a pretty genuine speed. She quickened, and when Chad Little joined us sharply (on Lady Nancy) she extended well. She will come on a lot and strengthen up, she has a good frame.”
Mike de Kock said that Greek Heritage could have classic potential and that she may have one more run or be put away for a while. “With a pedigree like this one can get excited and that will be the right thing to do.”
He added: “Ameer Rashid and his merry men from Al Khayl Breeders are a good bunch of guys and a pleasure to train for. They put no pressure on us, so there are no excuses for making bad decisions.”
Greek Heritage is a Wilgerbosdrift/Mauritzfontein bred by Rafeef out of Athina, by Fort Wood - a full-sister to Listed stakes winner, Aristotle. She races for Al Khayl (Pty) Ltd, in partnership with Cass Khan and Mohammed Tayob. “We’re very excited about our journey with this filly,” said Khan.
