Race 2, 1450m:  “Cherokee Rose has improved in her work after her 1200m debut. She is drawn a bit wide and has a place chance.”

Race 5, 1800m: “Trojan Horse acquitted himself well in his first post-Maiden run. He, too, has a bit of a sticky gate, but he will enjoy this distance and is probably our best runner today. He has a winning chance.”

Race 6, 1450m: “Another wide draw to contend with, this time for Blunderbore. This is his first start out of the Maidens and he faces several promising rivals in a strong race. He will need a lot of luck in running.”

Race 7, 1450m: “Big Unit is very well within himself. He seems a bit better up the straight, but if he can bring that form to this race around the turn, he’ll be competitive. Include him.”
