Vaal runner comments, Monday 4 May

Lucky Fish ambassadors Mike and Mathew de Kock have three runners for the Murugasa family at the meeting for work riders on the classic track at the Vaal this afternoon.
Time Honoured is priced up at 6-10 on the Lucky Fish betting board for Race 3 over 1450m. He will be having his first run for the stable, comes off a layoff and Mat said: “He is a short-priced favourite, but he’s not producing that type of work for us at home. On the form that he’s got, we’re hoping he switches off and finishes the race off well.”
Naretoi and Real Stunner line up in Race 7 over 2000m, after both having fair first-up runs for the yard in a race won by Orange County at Turffontein recently.
Mat commented: “Naretoi doesn’t show much at home, but that first run for us gave some justification for expecting a fair performance again today. He has made some improvement. We’ve got blinkers on him, he is once-paced. Perhaps that will make a difference.
“Real Stunner ran better than his finishing position. He is also one-paced and just made up the ground steadily, so up to 2000 he should do well. We’re looking for a good run from him today.”
