Mike de Kock filed his runner comments on behalf of the Lucky Fish-sponsored M&M partnership for racing at Hollywoodbets Scottsville today, as below:
Race 3, 1400m: “Bai Yulu made a promising 1600m debut and then ran downfield over 1900m when her saddle slipped, but that may have been too far. She is a full-sister to Diamond Maker, who won the other day when we brought him back in distance. We’re putting blinkers on which may make a difference, but she doesn’t show much at home. Place chance at best.”
Race 5, 1600m: “Ovation Star travelled well from Johannesburg and is doing fine. She is a talented filly, should be very competitive.”
Race 6, 1500m: “Open Sesame is another who travelled well from Joburg and is in very good form. She must be a big runner. Greenhouse is struggling at this stage of the game. She is better than her form, but not reproducing her home gallops at the track.”
Race 7, 1200m: “Mamlambo is having her first run for us, quite a nice filly this one, but she has been plagued by respiratory issues. This is on the short side for her, but she looks like a runner with a future and should be included in all bets.”
Race 8, 1100m: “Beamonesque has been a problematic horse over the years, but he is coming out fresh, working well after a rest and has a Place chance. Gimmeforsure comes off a rest too. She will probably need it a bit and has some issues, she’s not great in the wind. We’ll see how she goes, we’re not overly confident.”
