Rising Eagle, easy!

Rising Eagle, in his second racetrack appearance, won his 1160m Maiden with some ease, leading from the jump to win by 2.30-lengths, the result never really in doubt.

He ran well on his debut here a fortnight ago too - would probably have won that if he had more experience - and jockey Callan Murray said: "He was perhaps a bit soft first up, buy this was a good, improved run and he won well."

Mathew de Kock pointed to the benefit of experience and said: "He raced green first time out, made a forward move but got lost when he hit the front.

"As you saw today, with that run under the belt - I saw him in the ring - and he looked like he knew exactly where he was.

"He raced keen and I liked the way he finished it off. I think he will still improve a fair bit."

Rising Eagle is by Vercingetorix out of Intriguing Lady (New Approach) and has enough scope in his pedigree for owners Jayson and Preshalin Murugasa to be hopeful of a decent career.
