Midweek runners

Here are Lucky Fish ambassadors Mike and Mathew de Kock’s runner comments for the race meetings on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday and Turffontein (inside track) on Thursday.

Next Of Kin and My Lucky Charm go to post in Race 7 over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville after they were beaten by the up-and-coming Sommerstern over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last week.

This looks a marginally weaker contest, and Mat commented: “Next Of Kin looks like the right horse. He is in good form, with an inside draw that will help. He has a good winning chance. I’d include My Lucky Charm if you’re playing wider. He is suited to the Poly and if he can get cover, will run well. He didn’t get the cover he needs last time, and when this happens, he pulls and doesn’t finish the race off. We will try out best to get cover so he can switch off.”

Sutter’s Mill (Race 2, 1600m) and Green Machine (Race 3, 2000m) are in action at the Turffontein meeting.

Mat said: “Sutter’s Mill has improved on his debut run. With respect to everyone, this is not the greatest field, barring Joe Soma’s runner who has a bit of form. Ours should race less green this time and has a strong chance.

“Green Machine enjoyed his first run over 2000m last time. We’ve got him in the right race, he has improved and has good winning claims.”
