Runner comments, Turffontein 29 June

Lucky Fish ambassadors Mike and Mathew de Kock commented on their Turffontein runners for today, as below:

Race 2, 1600m: “Trojan Horse surprised us on his 1400m debut as he wasn’t showing us much at home, so we are mindful of that. He took that run well and he’s in a good space. He is running against a winner so it is a bit of a step up, but he is well drawn and gets the weight relief being a Maiden, so hopefully he will run very well.”

Race 3, 1600m:” “Duke Of Lorraine also put in a good run in the same race as Trojan Horse, coming from off them. He found a bit of traffic and could’ve finished a bit closer. He also gets a good draw today and is in a happy space, so we’re hoping he can put up a strong effort over the extra 200m.”

Race 4, 1600m: “Feast Of Berries shows winning work at home and so far has been slightly disappointing judged on that. We’re putting a tongue-tie on her because she can get her tongue over the bit. It’s a competitive race against the older fillies, but perhaps the tongue-tie can make a difference to winning or losing.”
