Runners at HWB Scottsville, Sunday

Lucky Fish ambassadors Mike and Mathew de Kock have six runners, including two newcomers, for an interesting race meeting at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.

Rustige Kracht (Hawwaam) lines up in Race 1 over 1000m. He is a half-brother to Spoil Yourself, who won last week’s Port Elizabeth Gold Cup over 3150m. It looks like this youngster, too, will eventually enjoy more ground. Mike said: “He is not showing much at home so far and will improve with the run.”

Next up is another Hollywood Racing-owned first-timer, Sparrow Man (Gimmethegreenlight), who takes on winners in Race 2 over 1000m, but should give a good account of himself. He is a half-brother to the decent staying filly Drumnadrochit, but shows speed and Mike said: “He’s quite a nice horse and given his pedigree he is likely to want more ground, but he has enough pace to be competitive.”

Bai Yulu finished a good second when dropped from 1900m to 1400m and fitted with blinkers last time out, and returns to the same course and distance in Race 4. “She doesn’t give us a great deal in work, but her last run was promising, her best so far. She has to be included in the exotics.”

Mamlambo made a promising stable debut in a sprint won by smart three-year-old Hah La Lah at this track last month, and a good run is expected in Race 5 over 1400m. “She is doing very well. We’re still getting to know her, she’s a decent filly who is not quite at her peak yet but should go well here. Both her wins have come over 1400m.”

Buddy Boy has been making steady progress after a rest and returns to the course and distance of his only win, in Race 7. “He is very fit and well and has a chance in a competitive handicap,” said Mike.

Much the same goes for Diamond Maker in Race 8 over 1200m. He put in a fair post-Maiden run in handicap company and Mike reckons he is worth including in exotics.
